• The EPS Problem

EPS or polystyrene does not break down and can cause significant harm if not disposed of correctly. Pl6stics unique recycle process not only breaks down EPS, but converts it into a commonly imported high-quality virgin plastic that can be used for manufacturing or in the construction industry.

Currently New Zealand transports EPS overseas where it is disposed of in dumps.

    Our Solution

Pl6stic Six NZ Ltd has developed and implemented a recycling system and process that breaks down Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), to virgin or near-virgin quality Polystyrene (GPPS), High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS). The method involves hybrid technology and unique purification tools used in both mechanical and chemical recycling. The outcome of this process is a reclaimed plastic with an undamaged polymer structure.

NZ will have the technology and capacity to reprocess the EPS plastics we consume and regenerate for the internal market and even export our recycled material.

    Intellectual Property

We are applying for a patent for this recycling system which has been developed in New Zealand with the collaboration of Callaghan Innovation and Scion.
